This is the second year of this event and was much bigger than last year. We only attended on the Saturday this year due to other commitments and I think the weather put a lot of people off.

The theme this year is 5 generations, with representative from each generation of Splits, Bays, T25, T4 and T5 to demonstrate key features and changes over time. There were smaller displays put on by various clubs such as SBS (Steering Box Scraper) and the Wancers (Westy’s Are Nice Club).

Sixteen Stone Pig provided the entertainment on Friday night playing indie/rock music by bands such as Kaiser Chiefs, Greenday, The Killers, Razorlite, Snow Patrol, etc. Hog Wash were playing glam rock on the Saturday night.

Once again the Camper Jam Crufts took place in the marquee. This is an event we might consider for Battlesbridge VW show next year. For £1 you could enter your prized pooch in the beauty contest under categories such as ‘Best Fancy Dress’; ‘Most Handsome Dog’; ‘Prettiest Dog’ and ‘Most Waggiest Tail’… I’m sure Rascal would look good in the leopard print costume!!

The Cooking in a Camper contest took a slight twist at this years show with a curry theme where the contestants had just one hour to prepare a delicious curry in their campervans.
