This is now my local show, only 15 minutes from where I live and as such I didn’t expect to be camping from the Friday. But if you have to drive, you can’t relax, so along came the wine and sleeping in the van.
In my opinion, this was a proper VW show, unlike some of the bigger shows which are more about the entertainment (i.e. Plymfest), although there was a major name booked for this event – Dodgy!! Who needs Bug Jam when you have Dodgy on your doorstep! He, he. Actually, does anyone actually remember them apart from me? The general consensus was no…
Steve Johnson from Johnson Autoworks provided the crowd with a fantastic rendition of Vanilla Ice’s song “Ice, Ice, Baby”! I’m not sure if there was much alcohol involved as it was early in the evening.
Stuart and I were trading at this event, selling Dub toys, and along with a sprinkling of other VW trade stands, there were a few auto-jumble plots and the usual T-shirt and craft stalls.
Overall, this was a really nice event with a relaxed atmosphere.
